Smaug eye sculpture in medallion

Description

50mm (1.96 inch) diameter medallion with Smaug eye sculptured of watch parts.
Setting of this medallion is made of an antique brass watch case from over 100 years old pocket watch. It was carefully polished and renewed, but it is still visible that it is not a new reproduction of a pocket watch, but it is a real antique and very beautiful watch case. Moreover, I have reconstructed the mechanism for opening the watch case. That's why the back of the medallion can be opened and closed (to open just gently press the button on the top - the one that was used to wind up the watch).

The Smaug eye is sculptured with watch parts. I wanted to count them, but... after 115th part I stopped counting dragon scales and focused on sculpturing. That was the moment, I had about quarter of an eye ready. So I don't know how many parts I used. Many :) That's it. The Iris of an eye I painted with enamels. The pupil of the eye is made of watch-hand. Whole sculpture is finished with water clear resin.

This medallion is  signed with "T" letter (TRYB sign).
Unique piece of art. I made only one medallion with clockwork Smaug eye. I will not make a copy.

Quotation from "Hobbit" book had been engraved inside of the medallion:
“I kill where I wish and none dare resist. I laid low the warriors of old and their like is not in the world today.
Then I was but young and tender. Now I am old and strong, strong, strong. Thief in the Shadows!”
- I will submit the picture of the back of the medallion too.
